Each year, the event plays host to a number of prestigious personalities from the realm of world cinema and the 2009 edition of the festival will see Italian actress Claudia Cardinale honoured, while the complete work of Tsai Ming-liang will also be celebrated.

The organisers assert: “Keeping with its tradition, the festival will take audiences on a 12-day trip around the world with, this summer, a stopover in Turkey - all this without leaving Paris!”
