Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur launches Special Travel Rate
Posted November 7, 2008 , add a commentThe Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur has launched a special travel industry rate available to travel trade personnel such as airlines, travel media, hotels, travel agents and others working within the hospitality industry.
The travel industry rate fluctuates based on our best available (BAR) rates or occupancy level. The special rate is RM 300++ per night for a deluxe room and RM 350++ per night for a deluxe room inclusive of one or two breakfasts. Special rates on broadband internet access is also available.

Starwood signs Four New Hotels in China
Posted November 6, 2008 , add a commentLe Meridien has signed an agreement with Wanda Group to open two new properties in China, one in Qingdao and one in Chongqing. Scheduled to open in 2011, the two new Le Meridien hotels further strengthen the Le Meridien brand’s growing portfolio in China.
In addition, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, the parent company of Le Meridien, has also signed an agreement with Wanda Group to add a Sheraton in Wuxi and a Westin in Taiyuan to the Starwood portfolio in China.

Walt Disney Parks & Resorts to build Hawaiian resort
Posted , add a commentWalt Disney has announced that the company has finalized plans to purchase 21 acres of oceanfront property on Hawaii’s island of Oahu. The property, located on the island’s western side in the picturesque Ko Olina Resort & Marina, Honolulu’s premier resort destination, will be home to Disney’s first mixed-use family resort outside of its theme park developments. The expansive resort, scheduled to open in 2011, is planned to have more than 800 units, including hotel rooms and Disney Vacation Club villas.

Hilton plans big growth in Caribbean
Posted , add a commentHilton Hotels Corp. will quadruple its presence in the Caribbean and Latin America with 150 new hotels over the next five years, according to Steve Goldman, president of global development and real estate. Hilton also has launched a new development structure, made up of six dedicated staff, to lead the efforts in its portfolio expansion and to help reach Hilton’s stated goal of adding 1,000 hotels to its international portfolio in 10 years.

All-suite resort opens in Jamaica
Posted , add a commentThe 319-unit Iberostar Suites Rose Hall Resort formally opened its doors this week in Montego Bay. It is the second Iberostar resort in Jamaica. The 366-room Iberostar Rose Hall Beach Resort opened in June 2007; the 295-suite Iberostar Grand Rose Hall will open in December. The three properties will be adjacent to one another.
